Welcome! My name is Lena, and after nearly eight years advocating for good food through organizations like Health Care Without Harm, and Urban Sprouts, as well as dreaming up family friendly meals that also satisfy my culinary cravings, this blog was a natural next step. I am the proud working mom of two amazing little girls, ages 4 and 8.
I am not a professional chef. I am not a dietician. I am not a nutritionist. While those are absolutely noble professions, I believe that you don’t have to be a food expert to make wholesome and satisfying family meals. My goal with this blog is to keep it real, so to speak, in every way. All of the featured recipes are either family staples or my experiments in progress. I love to chronicle the cooking process with photos but have committed to doing so in real time, no food styling allowed! What you see is what we serve, usually a few minutes after the dish is photographed.
